A Class with a Chilled Vibe (and a Bit of Oomph)

Every Saturday at 8:45 AM, we gather in a light and airy studio adjacent to Wicklea Academy on Wick Road, Brislington. It’s a friendly, welcoming space with free parking, toilets, and good ventilation – perfect for your weekend reset.

The session begins with gentle centring and preparation to connect mind and body, followed by a warm-up to get you moving. From there, we blend Pilates-inspired movements with strength-based exercises to target:

  • Upper body
  • Core stability
  • Lower body strength

This combination supports posture, balance, mobility, and flexibility. We round off with a short relaxation so you leave feeling strong, stretched, and mentally refreshed.

What to Expect & What to Bring

You’ll need:

  • An exercise mat
  • A pair of small dumbbells (up to 3kg)
  • Comfortable clothing you can move easily in (no need for fancy gear – just avoid bottoms that could trip you up).

Occasionally we’ll add in resistance bands or Pilates balls (supplied in class) to keep things fresh and varied.

The vibe? Supportive, non-judgemental, and inclusive. We offer adaptations for all levels, whether you’re brand new to Pilates or looking to level up your strength. Before joining, we screen for health conditions so we can tailor exercises to your needs – your safety and enjoyment are always our top priority.

Meet Your Instructor – Amanda

Hi, I’m Amanda, your instructor for Saturday mornings. At 53, I understand first-hand the challenges and rewards of finding fitness later in life. I’m a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor with qualifications in Fitness Pilates, Lift Lean Strength for Women, Menofit, Kettlebells, and specialist training for older adults and women’s health.

I started Revive Fitness Classes in 2017 after discovering how transformative fitness could be in midlife. Since then, I’ve helped hundreds of women across Brislington, Knowle, Totterdown, Whitchurch, Hengrove, and Kingswood to move better, feel stronger, and enjoy exercise that fits into their lives.

Beyond Pilates, I also teach dance and cardio fitness formats including Clubbercise, BOOSTfit, and Rockbox – but strength and wellbeing for women remain at the heart of everything I do.

About Amanda & Revive Fitness

Amanda is the heart and energy behind Revive Fitness Classes in South Bristol. But she hasn’t always been a fitness pro. In fact, she’ll happily tell you she didn’t even enjoy exercise until her mid-forties. Back then, she describes herself as “lazy and unhappy” – but discovering community fitness completely turned her life around. Now in her 50s, she’s living proof that it’s never too late to start moving, feel amazing, and change direction.

Before launching her midlife career in fitness, Amanda spent the 90s selling advertising, then swapped the corporate world for creativity, opening a craft shop where she taught jewellery-making and bead weaving. In 2017 she founded Revive Fitness, and in 2021 she added Wild Legs Activewear – a bold, colourful brand created for women who want to move with confidence and joy.
